Tencel modal uses material from sustainably managed forests
Modal comes from beech trees and produces a highly valued soft fabric, often used as a substitute for silk.
> -Modal is produced in a similar manner to Lyocell. However, instead of eucalyptus, modal is predominantly made from the pulp of beech trees. This creates an even softer fabric prized by the fashion industry.
Again, whilst modal is made by many brands, what makes Tencel’s modal more sustainable, is that their beech again only comes from sustainably managed forests. ([View Highlight](https://read.readwise.io/read/01hkg3gh5x9bbp5vrq1sbdpfwk))
